Q Division's Studio Internship

For information about interning at the record label, please visit this page.

Q Division's internship program is intense and comprehensive. We have very high expectations: We expect interns to be enthusiastic, responsible, humble, punctual, clean, alert, pleasant, and outgoing. Our interns are rewarded for their hard work and attention to detail by being involved all aspect of our operations. Interns are considered members of our staff while they are on site, and are taught everything they need to know to be part of our team.

Interns are expected to commit at least a full "studio" day a week, which is usually at least 12 hours in one day. We also require a minimum of 2 months commitment to our program. This means that if an intern decides our program is not for them, they have to complete at least two months. This gives interns an opportunity to get more comfortable here before they decide studio-intern life is NOT for them (and it's certainly NOT for everybody!).

We request that interns live within an hour drive/commute from the studio. Since our days are very long, we don't want you driving more than an hour home at 2 in the morning. An hour or more drive might sound like no problem when you're applying, but after a few months it will start getting old, not to mention dangerous.

We review intern performance every 4 months. At that time we decide if an intern will continue in our program for another 4 months. We also highlight areas they need to improve and identify areas they've done well in.

We primarily accept applicants who are currently enrolled in a full-time college program in a relevant major/minor (i.e. audio production), but we review and consider any driven individuals' application.

We regularly accept applications for studio interns, but we interview during a two week period 4 times a year. We do occasionally conduct interviews to fill holes in our schedule when interns drop out of our program.

An internship here is an unpaid position, but keep in mind the entire engineering staff at Q Division began their career here as interns.

To apply to our program, please send a cover letter and resume to Jon Lukason, our Intern Supervisor, via email. Please DO NOT show up at the studio without an appointment or an interview!

Thanks, and good luck!
