Studio A’s Live Room

Welcome to our new Studio A in North Cambridge!

Studio A’s live room has several distinct acoustic spaces, and is set up to accommodate full bands performing live, with great sight lines in the live room and to the control room.

The main space is a large and live performance room with hardwood floors, including a dead end with an absorptive overhang. The area under the overhang is great for drums, vocals, horns – you name it!

There are two large isolation rooms: a space we’re calling The Drum Room – a lively medium sized room with lots of diffusion, and a space we’re calling The Piano Room – a smaller space that’s carpeted and full of absorption.

Finally, there are two smaller isolation booths that are designed to hold various amps, but could in a pinch accommodate a musician or a singer.

Studio A’s control room is home to our newly restored Neve 8068, and a 40 channel I/O Pro Tools rig. It also houses a Studio 2″ A827 and an ATR 1/2″ tape deck, in addition to rack of all sorts of fun gear.
